Endoidrox – Calcium Hydroxide Canal Dressing
Endoidrox is the leading endodontic dressing for the treatment of vital and necrotic root canals. Thanks to its high alkaline pH (12.5) and the action of hydroxyl ions (OH⁻), it ensures powerful basic disinfection of the root canal system.
Mechanism of action
- Vital canals: The emitted carbon dioxide converts calcium hydroxide into inert calcium carbonate, selectively neutralizing its antiseptic action.
- Necrotic canals: The absence of CO₂ maintains the antiseptic action, eliminating residual bacteria.
- Tissue stimulation: Strong alkalinity neutralizes lactic acid, activates alkaline phosphatase, and stimulates the formation of secondary dentin and apical repair.

- Direct pulp capping and pulpectomies

Stability and storage
Calcium hydroxide inactivates upon contact with moisture and atmospheric CO₂. To preserve its properties over time, Endoidrox is packaged in an inert atmosphere in single-dose dark glass vials.
Instructions for use
- Mix powder and liquid to the desired consistency.
- Introduce the product into the canal using appropriate instruments.
- Alternatively, insert only the powder, compacting it with a plugger.
