OsteoBiol GenOs 0.5GR Tecnoss
Aliquota IVA applicata: 22%
Features
A natural replica of autologous bone, Gen-Os® retains the same intimate structures1 (matrix and porosity) and is characterized by high osteoconductivity2. It is biocompatible and biodegradable, as demonstrated by tests performed according to ISO 10993 standards at Eurofins Biolab. Gen-Os® is gradually resorbed and provides support for bone regeneration, helping to preserve the shape and volume of the original graft (osteoconductive properties)3,4.
Furthermore, thanks to its collagen content, the product facilitates clot formation and the subsequent invasion of reparative and regenerative cells, promoting the complete restoration of bone defects. Due to its marked hydrophilicity, it can act as a carrier for specific medications and drugs.
Usage
Gen-Os® must always be hydrated and mixed with TSV Gel, or with physiological saline or blood to activate its collagen matrix, thus increasing its adhesiveness. If necessary, it can also be mixed with the drug chosen for the surgery.
Clinical indications
Gen-Os®, a mixture of porcine cortical and cancellous bone, was the first product developed with the innovative Tecnoss® biotechnology and, thanks to its universal use, remains the most requested product on the market. Gen-Os® has been successfully used and documented for alveolar ridge preservation7 in combination with Evolution membranes: the application of this biomaterial significantly limits the volumetric reduction of the alveolar ridge that would normally occur following extraction, allowing for the correct placement of an implant in the second surgical phase8.
Gen-Os® is also indicated for lateral sinus lift4,9 and for the regeneration of dehiscences10, always in association with Evolution membranes. Recent published studies demonstrate its effectiveness also in the periodontal regeneration of deep infrabony defects. Thanks to its collagen content, once rehydrated Gen-Os® becomes very sticky and hydrophilic5: it therefore combines very well with blood and is very stable once applied to the graft site.
The cortical-spongiosa composition allows for progressive osteoclastic resorption, with a very similar rate of bone neoformation in parallel2: these unique properties allow for excellent preservation of the grafted volume, healthy and vascularized newly formed bone, and ultimately, success in implant rehabilitation.
Advantages
Gen-Os® expands up to 50% in volume after hydration with physiological solution: the rehydrated collagen contained in each granule significantly increases the adhesiveness of the biomaterial.
