For years the most popular etching gel: Ultra-Etch is a viscous gel based on 35% orthophosphoric acid, ideal for the Total Etch technique. Ultra-Etch is sufficiently viscous to avoid running on vertical surfaces. However, it is able to penetrate the smallest irregularities or occlusal surfaces thanks to its physical and chemical properties that promote extremely precise action.

It is designed to allow for complete and rapid removal by rinsing with air/water. For accurate application, dentists can choose from a wide variety of different tips: the Blue Micro Tip, excellent for linear and pinpoint etching, and the Inspiral Brush Tip, a brush-like tip ideal for surfaces and fissures, allow for precise and controlled application.

Ultra-Etch is the only self-limiting etching gel on dentin . This means that, even during prolonged etching times, it does not etch deeper than 1.9 μm. This provides the basis for excellent adhesion in the adhesive technique and effectively prevents post-operative sensitivity.
