Transcend™
THE COMPETITION
Transcend™ composite, with its ability to match the natural shade of the surrounding dentition, allows for excellent results with a single shade, without the need for a blocking agent. For cases where layering is indicated, in addition to the Universal Body shade, Transcend™ composite offers four shades for dentin and two for enamel.

Revolutionary Technology
DENTAL COMPOSITES
Transcend™ composite is engineered with Resin Particle Match™ technology. The balanced refractive indices of the resin and filler, combined with careful optimization of translucency and opacity, allow Transcend™ composite to match the natural color of most surrounding dentition using just one shade and without a blocking agent.

High optical and physical properties

Amalgam restoration
Amalgam staining is one of the most challenging restoration situations for dentists. In this case, the tooth was restored with Transcend™ Universal Body composite. No blocking agent was used because Universal Body has sufficient opacity to mask the discoloration at the bottom of the cavity, blending with the natural tooth color.
Dr. Jaleena Fischer Jessop

No characterization or stratification
The patient presented with an inconsistent restoration on the distal vestibular aspect of tooth 11 and the mesial vestibular aspect of tooth 12. He also showed evidence of secondary caries on tooth 12, as well as gingival recession. Finally, a darker, yellowish dentin was observed in the cervical area. The enamel was translucent. After removing the caries and defective restorations, the etching and bonding phase was performed, and the Universal Body shade of the Transcend™ composite was used to reduce the interdental space. Transcend™ composite can mimic the color of the surrounding tooth, without the need for any characterization or layering.

Preparations with Transcend™ composite
A young patient presented with interproximal caries on the maxillary premolars. Excellent color match using Transcend™ Universal Body.
Dr. Gary Findley

With just one mass (just one-shade)
Improperly fitting composite restorations on teeth #36 and #37. Both teeth exhibited microleakage at the margins between the restoration and the teeth. The proximal fissures on tooth #36 were considerably deeper than the Class I preparation on tooth #37. Both teeth were restored with Transcend™ Universal Body composite. Note the seamless integration of the composite and tooth structure on both teeth. No blocking agent or additional composite shade was used.
Dr. Rafael Beolchi

Direct adhesive restoration
The patient presented with an inadequate composite restoration. Removal of the filling revealed amalgam discoloration and a mesial gap. The mesial gap was still small and manageable, allowing for a direct adhesive restoration rather than an inlay. UltraEtch™ etchant and Peak™ Universal Bond adhesive were used for bonding. A thin layer of A3 PermaFlo™ flowable composite was then applied, followed by the Universal Body shade of Transcend™ composite, which completed the restoration. The composite was then finished and polished.
Dr. Jaleena Fischer Jessop

Defective restoration and caries removed
The patient had occlusal caries/defective restoration on tooth #25 and occlusal caries on tooth #26. The caries and the inadequate restoration were removed and Transcend™ universal composite was applied. No characterization was used in the final image to demonstrate how well Transcend™ composite matches the natural color of the surrounding dentition.
Dr. Brigham Stoker

Small Class I effectively restored
For this Class I restoration, the Universal Body shade of Transcend™ composite was used.
Dr. Gary Findley

Amalgam filling breakage
The patient had defective amalgam fillings. The defective restorations were removed and replaced using Transcend™ Universal Body composite.
Dr. Brigham Stoker

Restoration of lower molars
The patient had a failed composite restoration. After removing the old restorations, both lower molars were restored using Transcend™ Universal Body composite. Note the perfect integration between the composite and the tooth structure of the buccal wall of the lower first molar.
