Spongostan Dental Ethicon – Absorbable Hemostatic Sponge
Spongostan Dental Ethicon is an absorbable hemostatic sponge based on purified gelatin, indicated for controlling post-extraction bleeding in dentistry. Thanks to its uniformly porous structure, it promotes platelet aggregation and activates the natural coagulation process.
Mechanism of Action
- High absorbency – absorbs approximately 45 times its weight in liquid
- Platelet aggregation – stimulates fibrin network formation to stop bleeding
- Completely absorbable – completely absorbs in 3–5 weeks without the need for removal
- Water insoluble – maintains its shape and integrity in the socket
Indications for Use
Control of post-extraction hemostasis, treatment of bleeding sockets, support for soft tissue healing after oral surgical procedures.
