Active Humidity Control

TOO WET OR TOO DRY DENTIN: NO PROBLEM.

Most adhesives are relatively hydrophobic and tend to separate from water. If too much water is present on the prepared surface, the adhesive will not achieve uniform coverage, leaving voids that can weaken the adhesive bond and possibly cause post-operative sensitivity. If the dentin is excessively dry, the collagen fibers can collapse, preventing effective adhesion.

Prime&Bond active overcomes the surface tension of water and spreads throughout the dentin and dentinal tubules to form a homogeneous layer that creates a deep bond. After air drying, the solvent and water evaporate together, leaving a uniform layer of adhesive across the entire surface to ensure a strong bond.

FULL COVERAGE

The intrinsic surface tension prevents other adhesives from easily spreading across the cavity surface. Dry areas, not covered by the adhesive layer, can weaken the restoration and cause postoperative sensitivity and microleakage.

Prime&Bond active is formulated to actively expand in the cavity, minimizing the risk of leaving dry areas.

LOW FILM THICKNESS

Thick-layered adhesives tend to deposit in the corners of the proximal box of Class II restorations. These adhesive deposits appear on radiographs as translucent areas that can be mistaken for voids, spaces, or secondary caries, resulting in unnecessary restoration remakes. Thicker adhesives can also alter the geometry of the preparation, impacting the accuracy of crown cementation.
