AB2799 Flat Wave Handpiece for Wiser 3 Doctor Smile
Aliquota IVA applicata: 22%
The ONDA PIANA AB2799 handpiece is used to treat large areas of the mouth and perioral region; it helps reduce pain and inflammation in areas affected by trauma or joint disorders and promotes the healing of herpes and canker sores.
After surgical procedures such as extractions, implantology, and decontaminating and/or regenerative gum treatments, the AB2799 FLAT WAVE handpiece reduces healing times, as well as post-operative pain and swelling, by promoting cell proliferation and the formation of new blood vessels and bone tissue.
FLAT WAVE AND PHOTOBIOMODULATION: AN EFFECTIVE ADVANCE IN WELL-BEING THERAPY
Photobiomodulation (PBM) is known to trigger a cascade of metabolic effects and physiological changes. Photons emitted from a laser source are absorbed in the mitochondria and membranes of the target cells.
After a cell absorbs photons, the energy is incorporated into a molecule, increasing its kinetic energy, activating or deactivating enzymes, or altering the physicochemical properties of the main macromolecules. The response of growth factors within cells and tissues is the result of increased ATP and protein synthesis, increased cell proliferation, and modification of membrane permeability to absorb calcium.
These effects can lead to improved wound healing, tissue repair, and prevention of tissue death. PBM provides relief from inflammation in chronic diseases, neurogenic pain, and some neurological problems. However, for PBM to be effective, the photonic energy must reach the target cells at the appropriate intensity and in equal measure.
Each individual cell in the path of the applied energy must be illuminated with the same number of photons within this range. The only ideal condition to achieve this result is the adoption of a device capable of emitting energy in a Square Wave. Conversely, emission in a Gaussian Wave, for example through a defocused handpiece, is subject to a drastic reduction in the emitted energy as the handpiece moves away from the target tissue: already at 1 mm distance the loss of energy effectiveness is equal to 65%.
Designed by Prof. Alberico Benedicenti of the University of Genoa in collaboration with Doctor Smile, the ONDA PIANA AB2799 handpiece is a device capable of emitting an optimal and constant amount of energy over an area of 1 cm2, thus allowing easy application of Photobiomodulation (PBM) protocols.
By utilizing a special lens system that allows for constant laser beam focusing, unlike other handpieces and tips, the FLAT WAVE handpiece emits the same energy density thanks to its constant focusing system: the laser beam emission is therefore flat and not conical, as usually happens with all other handpieces, thus guaranteeing greater efficiency and, consequently, better results in the therapies in which it is used.
Thanks to this unique feature, it is possible to vary the distance of the handpiece from the treated surface up to 105 cm without modifying the emitted energy and without working in direct contact, thus avoiding errors and time loss. The ONDA PIANA AB2799 handpiece can be used for the treatment of heterogeneous pathologies and in physiotherapy.
