Coxo UA-1 Implant UV Activator – UV Photofunctionalization System
The Coxo UA-1 UV photofunctionalization system optimizes the surface of dental implants to promote faster and more predictable osseointegration, restoring hydrophilicity and improving blood clot adhesion.
The science behind photofunctionalization
Over time, even new implants can accumulate organic contaminants (mainly carbon compounds) on the titanium surface, a phenomenon known as "biological aging".
This reduces the surface's hydrophilicity and its ability to interact with blood and osteogenic cells.
Activation using 172nm VUV light removes these contaminants and restores a highly hydrophilic surface, promoting blood clot adhesion, bone-to-implant contact, and faster osseointegration.
