More than just filling, also healing: GuttaFlow® bioseal
Bioactive filling material With GuttaFlow bioseal, COLTENE introduces an intelligent filling material to the market that goes beyond sealing and filling the root canal. Upon contact with fluids, the bioactive material provides natural repair constituents such as calcium and silicates. It also activates biochemical processes that further support regeneration in the root canal.
The idea is remarkably simple: after setting, the new GuttaFlow bioseal forms hydroxyapatite crystals on the surface. These crystals significantly improve adhesion and also stimulate natural mechanisms, particularly the regeneration of bone and dentin tissues. Thanks to this catalytic effect, endodontists can offer long-tested solutions to their patients, taking another step forward towards optimal endodontic treatment.
Until now, only dental materials such as MTA or bioglass have demonstrated similar regenerative and supportive properties, but these materials had significant disadvantages, including long setting times and poor practicality. Like the proven GuttaFlow 2 system, GuttaFlow bioseal also combines flowable gutta-percha with a suitable sealer at room temperature.
