Long-term restorations must be reliable and stable while simultaneously meeting the high demands of natural esthetics that keep patients happy. Digital prosthetics are a popular choice thanks to their exceptional results, allowing even the smallest details to be manipulated using a computer. For particularly esthetic restorations, VOCO now offers Grandio disc multicolor, a shade extension of the nano-hybrid ceramic material Grandio disc. The different shades allow the gradient of natural teeth from the incisal edge to the neck to be imitated, all in just three layers.
The material's special composition creates an extraordinary "chameleon effect" thanks to its chromatic flexibility and light absorption, allowing the individual layers of the restoration to blend together, creating a highly aesthetic color gradient. This effect also enhances the optical adaptation to neighboring teeth and the overall aesthetic appearance.
Invisible-Layer-Technology
The restorative material is divided into three layers: an incisal layer, a layer in the tooth's base color, and a layer for the cervical area. The Grandio disc multicolor shade makes the restoration stand out vividly, an effect achieved with just these three layers thanks to the material's properties (Invisible Layer Technology). When coloring Grandio disc multicolor, the goal was to remain within the original Grandio disc shade family (e.g., A1 HT, A2 HT) (monocolor), so that all products can be combined with each other. The appropriate shade was determined based on the VITA shade guide: Grandio disc multicolor is available in the six shades A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, and C2. The middle layer (tooth's base color) is the determining color. Restorations made with Grandio disc multicolor imitate the natural tooth color gradient from the incisal edge to the tooth neck, even without customization.
Grandio Disc Multicolor is 15 mm thick and 98 mm in diameter, just like the monochrome material. It is suitable for single-tooth restorations such as crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers, and implant-supported crowns.
About Grandio disc
Cured Grandio blocs/discs set new standards with far above-average strength: with 86% filler content, the material has the highest filler content in its class. Biaxial flexural strength also achieves values otherwise only found in silicate ceramics, although Grandio blocs/discs are significantly more compatible with opposing materials.
This material allows for very fine milling and extremely easy polishing, ensuring a perfect fit and ensuring high aesthetic standards. Grandio blocs/discs allow for the creation of very thin-walled restorations without sacrificing stability, e.g., veneers that also protect tooth substance.
