Water-based, sugar-free topical cream for oral application containing Recaldent ^™ CPP-ACP (Casein Phosphopeptide - Amorphous Calcium Phosphate)

Recaldent ^™ is a derivative of the milk protein casein. It has been known for years that milk and its derivatives have a protective effect on teeth. Recent research has shown that this activity is due to a part of the casein protein called casein phosphopeptide (or CPP), to which calcium and phosphate ions are "bound" in the form of amorphous calcium phosphate (or ACP). This CPP-ACP complex (Recaldent ^™ ) is therefore an ideal system for delivering freely available calcium and phosphate ions.

The first professional product containing Recaldent ^™ technology is GC Tooth Mousse. Applying Recaldent ^™ to the oral cavity using GC Tooth Mousse enhances the effects of saliva by delivering a very high concentration of free calcium and phosphate ions into the oral environment. This restores the mineral balance.

Directions

• Restore mineral balance in patients with salivary deficiencies, such as xerostomia, or in patients who have difficulty maintaining proper oral hygiene, such as during orthodontic treatments
• Restore balance after procedures such as teeth whitening, professional cleaning and curettage and root planing, as well as reduce dentin hypersensitivity
• Research has also shown that Recaldent ^TM is able to restore the visible opacity in newly formed white spots to a translucency typical of a "natural" healthy tooth.

Instructions for use
When Recaldent ^™ is added to the oral cavity, the CPP "sticky" part of the CPP-ACP complex immediately binds to enamel, pellicle, plaque, and soft tissue, delivering calcium and phosphate exactly where it's needed. Saliva enhances the effectiveness of CPP-ACP, and the pleasant aroma helps stimulate salivary flow. Tooth Mousse works quickly, within 2-5 minutes, but the longer CPP-ACP is kept in the mouth, the more effective it becomes.
