The Dental Pod uses high-frequency ultrasonic waves of 42,000 Hz to vibrate the solution and produce millions of bubbles on a nanometric scale. These bubbles expand and collapse rapidly, releasing a large amount of energy that eliminates dirt, bacteria, and plaque without being abrasive to the dental appliance. This action, called "cavitation," occurs on average 4000 times per second, continuously cleaning all surfaces and spaces, resulting in a short but thorough cleaning cycle.
The precise frequency required to produce the optimal level of cavitation depends on the amount of water in the device and the size/material of the oral appliance. Fortunately, the Dental pod is equipped with a dynamic feedback function that will analyze the contents and adapt to the optimal frequency for ultrasonic cavitation cleaning.
