The mission of Dentaflux copal varnish is to protect the dentinal tissue of the pulp:

1. Acting as a barrier to the movement of irritants through the dentinal tubules, such as those produced by acids and polymers.
2. Temporary barrier to reduce moisture loss inside and outside the filling surface.
3. Protector of calcium hydroxide cements during acid-etching procedures.
4. Helps in marginal sealing in case of amalgam fillings.
5. Temporary protector of sensitive dentin and exposed cementum.
