Septodont introduces a new and innovative bioactive dentin substitute based on Active Biosilicate Technology™, for use in cases of damaged dentin, both coronally and radicularly. Biodentine was developed by the Septodont research group as a new class of dental material combining excellent mechanical properties with excellent biocompatibility, thanks to its bioactive behavior.
This is the result of many years of active collaboration between Septodont and various universities; a collaboration that has produced a new basic formulation of calcium silicate, demonstrating its absolute suitability as a substitute for damaged dentin.
Thanks to its tricalcium silicate core, Biodentine™ is a completely biocompatible mineral material and, thanks to its bioactivity, promotes the genesis of reaction dentin for the preservation of pulp vitality.
Furthermore, Biodentine™ is easy to use: it requires no surface preparation; it doesn't require any type of adhesive and has excellent sealing properties that prevent bacterial infiltration, thus ensuring no post-operative sensitivity.
The mechanical properties of Biodentine™ surpass those of trioxide aggregate and glass ionomer-based mineral cements, making it suitable for endodontic repair and restorative techniques.
It is also indicated in endodontic repair procedures such as perforations, internal resorptions
and external, apexification, and retrograde fillings. Biodentine comes in containers of 15 capsules and 15 single-dose tablets.
