Absorbable, braided, coated synthetic suture.
COLOR:
Purple or uncolored (white).
MATERIAL:
Copolymer of glycolic acid and lactic acid (Polyglactin 910).
Dodecanol, a member of the alcohol family, was added during the polymerization process. This component allows for a 25% increase in in vivo tensile strength.
TYPE OF COATING:
Polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate.
CHARACTERISTICS:
The presence of lactic acid and dodecanol in the synthesis process guarantees maximum tensile strength in the first days of implantation.
The special coating gives the suture excellent fluidity through tissue and ideal knotting ability, especially noticeable in narrow and deep areas.
Furthermore, the particular structure of the weaves guarantees high tensile strength and extreme ease of handling.
TENSILE STRENGTH IN VIVO:
75% after 2 weeks, 50% after 3 weeks for sizes 6/0 and above; 37% after 3 weeks for sizes 7/0 and below.
ABSORPTION:
By hydrolysis, at least up to the 40th day; complete between the 56th and 70th day.
TISSUE REACTION:
Mild.
STERILIZATION METHOD:
Ethylene Oxide.
