Directions
RelyX™ Fiber Post 3D – Indicated for insufficient residual tooth structure (< 4 mm). The post serves to support and secure the coronal restoration.
All fiber posts are available in four sizes*: 0, 1, 2, and 3. Color coding ensures precise matching with the drills. The drills (available in five sizes, including a Universal drill) are the same for both types of 3M post and are used to remove the filling from the root canal and prepare the root canal.

Form
Both RelyX™ Fiber Post 3D and RelyX Fiber Post glass fiber posts have a conical shape. They have parallel walls (cylindrical shape) at the coronal end and conical at the apical end. The coronal end of the cylindrical portion provides a large surface area for bonding the core build-up material and maximum material thickness to withstand chewing forces.
Additionally, the coronal area of the new-generation post is equipped with 3D macro-retentive rings that ensure secure retention of the core build-up material. The area is partially flattened, allowing for a secure hold with tweezers.
The microporous surface of the conical end allows for high mechanical retention of the cement and strong adhesion to the root canal.
Radiopacity
Both RelyX™ Fiber Post 3D and RelyX Fiber Post glass fiber posts are radiopaque. The radiopacity of RelyX Fiber Post (size 2) is 2.5 mm Al/mm. Thanks to the new fibers used in RelyX Fiber Post 3D, the radiopacity is further increased to 3.5 mm Al/mm, for greater radiopacity that allows for better control of the post position.
Flexural strength
The flexural strength of the post contributes to the overall stability of the restoration. The flexural strength of RelyX Fiber Post 3D and RelyX Fiber Post glass fiber posts equals or exceeds that of competitive products tested. Thermal cycling tests evaluate long-term stability under simulated aging conditions.
Both RelyX Fiber Post 3D and RelyX Fiber Post show high flexural strength values even after 10,000 thermal cycles and thus fulfill one of the fundamental prerequisites for the longevity of restorations.
