Advantages
Closure of the skin
- Wound closure in one minute [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Significantly less painful than traditional sutures [5]
- Effective antimicrobial barrier [6, 7, 8]
- Store at room temperature < 22° [9]
- Highly appreciated by patients and healthcare professionals [2, 7, 10, 11, 12]
- Save time and costs [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 12]
- Only one layer needs to be applied [4, 8]
- Histoacryl ® can be used for the closure of trocar breaches [8, 13]
Sclerotherapy
- For bleeding and non-bleeding varicose veins [14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19]
- It is possible to combine Histoacryl ® with traditional sclerosing therapies [14, 15, 17, 20]
- Final hemostasis is achieved in more than 90% of cases [14, 15, 16, 18, 19]
- Lower rebleeding rate than ligation [14, 15, 18, 20]
Fixing the nets
- Non-invasive fixation method: literature reports that it is better tolerated by patients than traditional methods [22, 23, 24, 25, 26]
- Unique fixation method that can be applied to different hernia repair techniques [22, 23, 24, 25, 26]
- Recurrence rate comparable to that observed with traditional fixation methods [23, 24, 25, 26]
- Low intra- and post-operative morbidity [24, 26]
- Reduced risk of chronic postoperative pain compared to traditional fixation methods [23, 24, 25, 26]
- Reduction of operating times compared to traditional fixing methods [23, 25]
- Good biocompatibility and in vivo tolerance [23, 24, 25, 26, 27]
Indication
