A bagged instrument retains its sterility for 30 days (60 days in the case of double bagging): it is essential to indicate the sterilization date and expiration date on the bag. For this reason, De Marco offers Mark 4, a manual label printer with two lines of printing, which show:

• the sterilization date;
• the expiration date;
• the sterilization cycle number;
• the number of the operator performing the sterilization operations.

Each label also features a process indicator that changes color upon contact with saturated steam, providing a visual signal to the operator indicating which instruments have already been placed in the autoclave.

The labels have double-sided adhesive backing: the operator can remove it from the bag at the end of the procedure and attach it to the patient's medical record. This allows for quick identification of the instruments used during the procedure, ensuring the patient that they were sterile, and protecting the dentist from potential legal implications.

The ink is non-toxic and steam-resistant.
