During endodontic treatment, a broken root canal instrument not only represents enormous stress for the user but also poses a greater risk of post-endodontic complications for the patient. Removal of these broken fragments is often difficult and impossible to plan. As shown in the following video, the 4601 Endo Rescue kit offers a simple and systematic solution for accessing the root canal and removing broken instruments (rotary nickel-titanium instruments).
Since one of the main causes of instrument fracture is incorrect or incomplete preparation of the root canal access or access cavity, the first step is the correct and precise repreparation of the instruments using traditional instruments:
• We recommend using a blunt tip cutter of size XXL (to allow for a better view)
Once the root canal entrance has been re-identified and access to the head of the fragment has been restored, 2 special instruments simplify a previously complicated maneuver:
• The centering drill exposes the last few millimeters and thus allows access to the fragment
• The extremely thin trephine bur is then applied to the fragment and rotated to lock it in place .
Thanks to the 4601 kit, the dentist has a set of instruments available for emergency cases in the field of endodontics , easy to use and ready to use.
As already highlighted, the fracture of endodontic instruments is often due to under-preparation or incorrect preparation of the access cavity and the canal orifices .
To resume cavity preparation, it is possible to use the following sequence of instruments present in the EndoRescue kit, created to remove fractured NiTi instruments from the canal:
- H269GK 315 016 smooth head and improved operational visibility, thanks to the 315 shank
- After that, access to the head of the fractured instrument will be made with the drills.
of Gates G180A 204 110 short and/or G180 204 090 - Then we will proceed to "re-center" the access to the fragment with RKP 204 090
- To finally remove the fragment with the hollow bur RKT 204 090. The rotation at
left will literally suck the fragment into the inside of the cutter.
