Apolactoferrin Lactoferrin and transferrin are natural glycoproteins belonging to the transferrin family; both present significant differences that influence their functional profile and potential benefits. Apolactoferrin is the iron-FREE form of lactoferrin, therefore its structure allows for better bioavailability. Researchers' interest in recent years has been in the Apolactoferrin is determined by the multifaceted action of this protein, which is involved in numerous biological mechanisms.
Apolactoferrin It has demonstrated superior antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties compared to lactoferrin. Its powerful chelating action occurs because, in the presence of iron, it behaves like a magnet, binding to it at neutral or alkaline pH and releasing it at acidic pH.
In practice, the Apolactoferrin It is never saturated with iron, and its affinity for this metal is so strong that it can extract free iron from the surrounding environment, depriving microbes of a nutrient essential for their survival. Deprived of iron, the bacteria are forced to abandon their colonies, thus becoming more vulnerable to pharmacological therapies. Biofilms of pathogenic oral bacterial strains, in fact, have such a large bacterial mass that they can render even the most potent antibiotics ineffective. Apolactoferrin it inhibits this biofilm by performing an important bactericidal action on its own.
This antimicrobial activity is particularly useful in the treatment of oral infections and beyond. Apolactoferrin It stands out for its ability to support intestinal health, facilitating the balance of the microbial flora and improving intestinal permeability. These characteristics make it a valuable ally in nutrition and overall body health.
In Aevizol Care®, the Apolactoferrin It completely saturates the excess aqueous part that forms the network, reaching the highest possible concentration. This contributes to its longer shelf life and maximum effectiveness.
Aevizol Care® It is indicated in the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease, in maintaining the health of the gums and tooth root after scaling and root planing, in the prevention and acceleration of healing of tissues undergoing surgery, in mucositis, in periodontal pockets, and in peri-implantitis. Aevizol Care® A periodontal pocket sealant is a topical medical device. Applied to periodontal pockets, it effectively combats the disease and its recurrence, and contributes to the protection and healing of the periradicular bone.
Aevizol Care® It accelerates the healing and scarring process of the gums in all surgical procedures.
Aevizol Care® It is the first professional maintenance treatment for periodontal patients. At the end of the hygiene session, it is applied to the gingival sulci using the supplied needles and then stabilized with the cross-linking agent. Aevizol Care® comes in the form of a ready-to-use "gel".
Why the apoferritin+lysozyme mix?
The Apolactoferrin It possesses a powerful, natural antimicrobial, virucidal, and fungicidal activity, and is capable of attacking and lysing the bacterial membrane, exploiting the affinity of its cationic domains for the bacterial membrane. In combination with lysozyme (an enzyme capable of breaking the β1-4 glycosidic bonds of peptidoglycan, leading to the death of the bacterium by cytolysis) enhances its antibacterial efficacy.

Instructions
Mechanism of action
Aevizol® Care It is a gel with good adhesive properties that, after application, undergoes solidification to perform various functions:
- Filling the periodontal pocket, preventing the infiltration of food debris.
- To perform a mechanical action to counteract the formation of bacterial biofilm by closing the periodontal pocket.
- To seal the gingival pocket, through muco-adhesive action, in order to hinder bacterial spread.
- To exert a probiotic anti-inflammatory action thanks to its highly biocompatible polymers.
Aevizol® CARE It is indicated in periodontal prevention, in maintaining the health of the gums and tooth root after scaling and root planing, and in protecting and accelerating the healing of tissues undergoing surgical procedures.
Product Information
Aevizol® Care The periodontal pocket sealant is a ready-to-use medical device for topical application. It should be stored in the dark and at a moderately cool room temperature, preferably between 15°C and 25°C.
Aevizol® Care Applied in periodontal pockets, it effectively counteracts periodontal disease and its recurrence, and contributes to the protection and acceleration of healing of the previously cleaned peri-radicular bone with Aevizol® or Aevizol® Hyal . Aevizol® Care It has proven to be very effective after professional hygiene treatment.
Advantages
The product consists of two components: the first is a white, slightly straw-colored, viscous gel to be placed at the site of interest; the second is a transparent, highly fluid solution containing the hardening agent capable of inducing a gentle solidification of the gel. The resulting compound acquires a rubbery consistency and seals the site, preventing food infiltration and significantly extending the duration and action time to at least three weeks.
This particular formulation of Aevizol® Care plays an essential role in disease prevention.
Contraindications
With the use of Aevizol® Care No contraindications have been found. Use is not recommended in cases of known hypersensitivity to the product components. Known individual hypersensitivity to the product. The product must not be administered to individuals sensitive to egg proteins. In pregnant women, the product should only be administered when absolutely necessary.
Composition
Aevizol® Care is composed of Probiotic hydrogel and hardening solution
Syringe assembly
Unscrew the cap. Luer lock of the pre-filled syringe and insert the sterile needle.
How to use
Aevizol® Care It is an easy-to-use product for topical application. Prepare the affected area as follows:
- Screw on the blunt needle and deposit the contents of the syringe with probiotic hydrogel into the area to be treated.
- Bring the cross-linking saline solution into contact with the product to induce its transformation into compact rubber.
A few drops are sufficient. It is not necessary to dry the pocket; any excessive bleeding can be controlled with hydrogen peroxide. Aevizol® Care, now in the form of a consolidated membrane, will not be removed from the treated area. After 2-3 minutes, remove excess product. Do not apply excessive amounts of product, and do not exceed the contents of a single syringe. Inform the patient NOT to rinse, drink, or eat for at least one hour. From the following day, the patient can perform normal oral hygiene using a soft toothbrush. A single application at the end of professional hygiene is sufficient.
