GC's plastic "spacer" impression trays are made of rigid plastic, although not as rigid as metal impression trays, and are therefore more suitable for procedures where a very high degree of precision is not required, such as impressions of the opposing arch, occlusal registrations, model making, and impression taking for provisional restorations.

However, if a plastic impression tray, which is not very rigid compared to a metal impression tray, needs to be used, it can easily be reinforced with a strip of self-polymerizing acrylic with a thickness of 1-2 mm and a width of 6-10 mm, to be placed across the distal band of the impression tray.

GC's "spacer" impression trays feature a unique, zig-zag relief along the inner base of the tray. This minimizes cusp contact with the tray and allows for easy placement of the tray to the correct depth, resulting in consistent, high-quality impressions. All GC plastic impression trays have an integral handle for easy placement and removal.
