Since its introduction in 2011, Dentsply Maillefer's WAVEONE® has set new standards in root canal shaping: a unique reciprocating NiTi file for root canal treatment.
Today, WAVEONE ® GOLD uses that same well-established technology, also making use of the innovative GOLD alloy applied to an optimised design, which includes the expansion of the range and the refinement of the tip diameters, tapers and cross section.
The result is a much safer, more efficient and flexible tool, so much so that most cases can be handled with a single file ( Primary ).
WAVEONE ® GOLD takes the simplicity and success of treatment, already achieved with WAVEONE ® , to a higher level:
Increased resistance to cyclic fatigue
- The WAVEONE ® GOLD Primary instrument resists cyclic fatigue 50% more than the WAVEONE ® Primary instrument.
- The screwing effect is reduced compared to standard rotary systems.
Suitable for a wider range of root canal morphologies
- Greater flexibility of the instrument thanks to GOLD technology
- Expanded range: Small, Primary, Medium, Large

Waveone GOLD instruments are available in 3 lengths (21, 25, 31 mm) in pre-sterilized blisters.
The system is complete with paper points and variable-taper gutta-percha points dedicated to Waveone GOLD and Thermafil obturators.
The Glide Path can be created with PathFile or Proglider before using the Waveone GOLD instruments.
Both the X-Smart Plus and X-Smart iQ engines are compatible with Waveone and Waveone GOLD instruments.
