PROTAPER NEXT™ is the successor to the Dentsply Maillefer PROTAPER® UNIVERSAL system, which has been considered the gold standard in endodontics for many years. Also based on the PROTAPER® philosophy, it is a versatile and flexible system capable of treating most root canals:

a single file sequence for all clinical cases
variable tapers for an optimized crown-down technique
commonly approved apical finishing diameters

Swaggering Effect

The innovative “swaggering” effect of the new eccentric rectangular section of PROTAPER NEXT™ gives the tool a “swaggering” motion similar to the typical undulatory motion of a snake, which generates a larger space for debris collection.

The “swaggering” effect also allows for optimal channel tracking.

The M-WIRE® alloy

The NiTi M-Wire® material from which the new instrument is made improves flexibility while maintaining ideal cutting efficiency. This is possible thanks to an advanced heat treatment process exclusive to Dentsply. NiTi M-Wire® also ensures greater resistance to cyclic loading, the main cause of instrument breakage.

The instruments are available in pre-sterilized blister packs of 3 files in single sizes (X1-X2-X3-X4-X5) or assorted sizes (X1-X3) in lengths of 21, 25 and 31 mm.
It is recommended to use the Pathfile rotary tools to create the glide path.

Dedicated Paper Points, Gutta-Percha and GuttaCore Fillers

The system also includes dedicated paper points, gutta-percha points and GuttaCore obturators, corresponding to the size of the canals prepared with the PROTAPER NEXT™ instruments.

PROTAPER® UNIVERSAL D1-D2-D3 retreatment instruments are the recommended instruments for filling removal. Compared to leading brands, the new PROTAPER NEXT™ solves the most challenging clinical cases, provides greater safety, shortens shaping times, and significantly improves respect for the original anatomy of the root canal.
