Gloss retention was determined by brush abrasion testing.
The composite materials were modeled into blocks and carefully polymerized.
- The surfaces were wet polished with a Beuhler variable speed polishing system.
- They were stored in water at 37ºC for 24 hours.
- The gloss was then evaluated.
The samples were brushed with toothpaste and a toothbrush
- The toothbrush was mounted on the automatic brushing device.
- Gloss measurements were performed after 500 cycles and every 1000 cycles.
- The test ended after 6000 brushing cycles.
