The ideal piezoelectric insert for precision osteotomy and osteoplasty on thin bone and in proximity to delicate anatomical structures.
The Mectron OT5B insert is a diamond-coated (126 µm) tip with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, specifically designed for piezoelectric bone surgery. Its 1.7 mm diameter geometry ensures micrometric and controlled cutting action, which is essential for refining osteotomies while minimizing trauma to the surrounding soft tissues.
Key Features and Clinical Benefits
Micrometric cutting action: Allows for osteotomy and osteoplasty procedures with high tactile control and surgical precision.
Maximum soft tissue protection: Indicated for the atraumatic finalization of osteotomy on thin bone structures and near nerves, blood vessels, or the maxillary sinus.
Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating: Increases the wear resistance of the tip and extends its operational life.
High-efficiency diamond coating (126 µm): Optimized grit size for smooth bone removal while maintaining a low temperature in the working area.
