IPS e.max Ceram Art Essence pastes are highly pigmented stains designed to characterize specific surfaces and modify color nuances without altering the basic shade. They are used to customize restorations by creating color variations, optical effects, and natural transitions between dentin, enamel, and incisal surfaces.
Their uses include:
- Adding intense shades to specific areas.
- Reproduction of the natural chromatic variations of enamel and dentin.
- Creating depth and vitality in the restoration.
- Local adjustment of color saturation, warmth or coolness.
- Completion of Shade Dentin/Incisal and Illusion effects.
They are very useful in monolithic restorations where expressiveness is required without layering.
Essence White: Lightens specific areas and enhances their value. Used for perichromic lines, areas of incisal shine, or to highlight highlights.
Essence Cream: Provides a soft, warm tone. Ideal for softening transitions or balancing areas that appear too cool.
Essence Lemon: Adds a slight yellowish hue. Used to correct excessively cool opacities or to strengthen light dentin in the mid-thirds of the teeth.
Essence Sunset: provides a warm-orange tone. Very useful for strengthening the neck area or creating gentle warm infiltrations.
Essence Copper: Provides intense warmth with a coppery hue. Used to customize pronounced neck areas, crevices, or areas of high saturation.
Essence Khaki: A soft greenish-gray shade. Used to neutralize overly warm tones or correct strong yellow saturations.
Essence Mahogany: Dark brown. It highlights cracks, creates shaded areas, and reinforces secondary and tertiary anatomy.
Essence Anthracite: Dark gray shade. Used for depth effects, shading in proximal areas, or defining incisal or occlusal grooves.
How they integrate into the work:
Essence pastes are applied over the Shade layer already applied. Their purpose is to modulate and customize the color, never to replace the base shade. They can be applied wet-on-wet or conventionally and can be mixed together to create additional shades. They are particularly effective when combined with Illusion to create more realistic optical dynamics.
