OsteoBiol® Soft Cortical Lamina is made of porcine cortical bone using the exclusive Tecnoss® process, which prevents the ceramicization of hydroxyapatite crystals, thus accelerating physiological resorption. After superficial decalcification, it acquires a semi-rigid consistency which, once hydrated, becomes plastic and easily adaptable to the graft site; the soft edges prevent micro-trauma to the surrounding tissues.
Clinical indications
- Oral surgery and traumatology: in cases of extensive regenerations with a risk of exposure, it adapts perfectly to the underlying bone and soft tissues.
- Implantology: ideal for protecting and stabilizing grafts in two-wall defects and for peri-implant regenerations in aesthetic areas.
- Antrostomy coverage: indicated for this specific application.
- Healing time: approximately 5 months.
Instructions for use
- Can be shaped with sterile scissors to the desired form.
- Hydrate for 5–10 minutes in sterile physiological solution until desired plasticity is achieved.
- Adapt to the graft site and secure with osteosynthesis screws.
- In case of exposure, remove only in the presence of clear superinfection: the consistency allows for healing by secondary intention.
Characteristics
- Collagenated porcine cortical bone, superficially decalcified.
- 20×40 mm size: ideal for extensive or elongated defects.
- Becomes plastic after hydration, maintaining bone compactness.
- Perfectly biocompatible and of natural origin.
- Is integrated and partially replaced by neoformed bone.
- Patented Tecnoss® process: no ceramicization of hydroxyapatite.
