How to use:
1. Open the blister
2. Shape the membrane (if necessary) without hydrating it
3. Hydrate the membrane for 30 seconds in sterile saline
4. Place the membrane to cover the graft site
General considerations for use and precautions:
The protection time of this type of membrane is at least 4 months.
The particularly long protection time is due to the fact that the treatment that the pericardium undergoes to make it biocompatible does not alter the natural three-dimensional structure and the bonds present between the collagen and elastin fibres. The time required for its degradation is consequently greater.
It is therefore a “structured” membrane that also has particular characteristics of mechanical resistance to traction.
It does not require fixation and its adhesiveness is identical to that of traditional collagen membranes. It has proven to be the ideal choice for most bone regeneration procedures with grafts. The pericardial membrane is a tissue and, as such, can also be sutured and is highly resistant to traction.
