Numerous publications have long since confirmed that T hermafil (Dentsply Maillefer) is currently the most reliable obturation technique as it guarantees a particularly rapid and safe three-dimensional closure of the root canal system with excellent long-term results.
The thermafil® system uses the Thermaprep Plus oven (Dentsply Maillefer) to heat the gutta-percha coating the carrier so that it reaches melting temperature in the shortest possible time.
To make the combination of the Thermafil® technique and the Thermaprep oven even simpler and quicker, the new Thermaprep®2 oven has been created.
Therma prep ® 2 allows you to heat the shutters individually or simultaneously in a few seconds, more precisely between 20 and 49 seconds depending on the size of the shutter and does not require preheating.
Three-dimensional heat is maintained evenly in the heating chamber until the obturator is ready for use, making it ideal for treating multiple canals.
The oven uses audible and LED indicators to indicate the various operating phases. For example, the integrated timer provides an audible warning when the filling material reaches the correct temperature, and the shutter is held at that temperature for 90 seconds.
The shutter releases, now slow-release and equipped with a silicone ring, allow the shutter to be inserted and removed in complete safety.
The new “Cleaning” mode allows you to increase the oven temperature until the gutta-percha remaining inside the heating chamber softens and allows for its easy removal.
In addition to Thermafil® obturators, the Therma prep® 2 oven can also be used with all other obturators that complete the most popular root canal shaping systems (Dentsply Maillefer): ProTaper® Universal, wave•one ™ and GT®Series-X . A special identification label allows you to adapt the oven to the chosen system.
Thanks to the thermafil® system and the new Thermaprep®2 oven, it is possible to obtain a three-dimensional closure of the endodontic space with rapid working times and ease of execution.
