Properties:
Collagen is a fibrous protein naturally present in all connective tissues. Lyophilized collagen, in the form of a cylinder, allows for hemostasis thanks to its adhesive, liquid absorption, and gelling properties. The collagen cylinder molds itself to the bleeding surface and adheres strongly to it when compression (mechanical) is applied, thus promoting the formation of the platelet plug (coagulation) and its retention in place. Collagen cylinders are resorbable (autolysis). Etik Collagen cylinders come in sterile, ready-to-use individual packages. Diameter of approximately 10 mm - height of approximately 16 mm.
Composition:
Native, undenatured collagen of animal (bovine) origin: 80 to 90% type I collagen, 10 to 20% type III collagen.
