EDTA 17% Gel 2.5 g – Ogna
EDTA 17% Gel Ogna is a chelating agent in gel formulation, indicated for cleaning and lubricating the root canal during endodontic procedures. Thanks to its chelating properties towards the calcium ion, it exerts a demineralizing action on the inorganic component of dentin, promoting its dissolution and subsequent removal.
The 17% concentration and slightly alkaline pH (around 8) represent the ideal conditions for effective cleaning without damaging the deeper layers of the canal walls.
Advantages of the gel formulation
- Lubricating action: facilitates reaming operations by reducing instrument friction
- Suspending action: retains debris produced by instrumentation for easier removal with subsequent washes
- Increased adhesion: adheres to the canal walls for the necessary time, then allows for simple and complete removal
Usage protocol
Canal reaming: apply the gel and leave for 2 minutes before starting reaming. Replenish the product removed during washing. Finally, rinse with hydrogen peroxide or Niclor 5 (sodium hypochlorite).
Endocanal post application: after preparing the recipient site, apply the gel and leave for about 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with sodium hypochlorite, then with physiological solution.
